The Scottish Awards for New Music 2018 took place on Wednesday 7th March and it was a fantastic evening celebrating contemporary music and its developments in Scotland in the year 2017-2018.
Jazz from Scotland announced earlier in the year that we were supporting the Award for Innovation in new Jazz Music, sponsored by Scottish gin company Ginkhana and presented by Jazz from Scotland Board Member Brodie Jarvie. The shortlisted nominees included Tommy Smith for The Spirit of Light and Chris Greive for Stemzells, but it was Martin Kershaw who took home the award for Playtime, which is a project centred around the performance and promotion of new jazz music.
We offer congratulations to Martin, and thanks to New Music Scotland – we were pleased to be associated with this award!
