Award-winning Scottish double bassist and composer Euan Burton launched his second album ‘Too Much Love’ last November on Whirlwind Recordings following on from his acclaimed suite Occurrences.
As a composer, Burton marries a wonderful blend of beautiful melodies with playful yet tricksy structures that invite the listener into the music. All About Jazz describes how Burton’s “compositions touch on universal feelings and emotions… his band crafts the music with rare delicacy and grace”. This powerful approach has resonated with audiences around the world with recent tours of America, Canada, The UK and Poland. As a bassist, Burton’s playing boasts a beautiful touch and warm tone and has featured on over twenty recordings including jazz releases featuring the likes of Ari Hoenig, Tom Gibbs and Will Vinson. His quartet features four starts of the Scottish jazz scene in Alyn Cosker (Drums), Tom Gibbs (Piano) and Adam Jackson (Alto Saxophone).
