Jazz from Scotland

Lorna Reid

Songwriter/singer covering jazz, blues, soul and roots with line-ups from duos to bands. Lorna Reid‘s original work is regularly featured on international radio and she has recently co-written with leading writers from UK and USA.

“Like many independent artists, it’s difficult to place Reid in a clean “genre” box. Vocally, she reminds a listener off Diana Krall; cool and gliding. That said, placed against music with country, folk, and blues elements, one could quickly draw the conclusion that Reid is Scotland’s Norah Jones. An effortless blend of jazz and some Americana.” (Rochester NY, International Jazz Festival – review).
Last year saw the release of Alan’s debut album “Traveller’s Tales”, recorded with his working trio of friends and long-time collaborators Andrew Robb on bass, and Marton Juhasz on drums.
“…S’Wonderful shows that Lorna Reid has the blues of Bessie Smith, the swing of Ella, the robust of Billie Holiday and the soul of Nina Simone (Lulo Reinhardt’s Swing Project, Germany – review).
Lorna is signed to Smart Indie label with recent releases My Hotel Wrecking Days are Over, Miss Idaho and Still Waters.
