Matt Carmichael

Matt Carmichael is a 17-year-old Scottish saxophonist who has recently performed at the Newport Jazz Festival USA (thanks to a full scholarship he received from the Berklee global Jazz at Newport summer programme), BBC Proms-Royal Albert Hall and the Amsterdam Blue Note. He currently plays with TSYJO and NYJOS amongst various other groups/projects in Scotland. Whilst Matt is still in school, he has already had the chance to play and learn from incredible musicians such as Terri Lynne Carrington, Danilo Perez, John Patitucci, Dick Oatts, George Garzone, Tommy Smith, Allon Beauvoisin, Konrad Wiszniewski, Euan Stevenson, Iain Ballamy, Liane Carroll, Malcolm Edmonstone Andrew Bain and many more…
