Weekly jazz series from jazz promotion body Bridge Music founded by the late Bill Kyle, musician/promoter and owner of The Jazz Bar Edinburgh. The series features UK and international touring bands and original music from Scottish based jazz ensembles.
The Cameron T-Duncan Quintet is a newly-formed group consisting of 5 Glasgow based musicians. Led by trumpeter and composer Cameron Thomson-Duncan, the ensemble features some of Glasgow’s finest up-and-coming young jazz musicians; with the dynamic and creative drumming of Greg Irons, one of the city’s most in-demand players; the ever tasteful and lyrical guitar playing of Tom Stephenson, who composes for and leads his own stellar sextet; the phenomenal artistry of Ali Watson on bass, a rising star on the British music scene; and the titanic creative force that is Harry Weir on saxophone, who leads his own ensembles in Glasgow and Birmingham.
The band are dedicated to playing contemporary re-workings of jazz standards, as well as playing tunes that combine elements of modern jazz, folk and popular music.
Cameron Thomson-Duncan (trumpet), Harry Weir (saxophones), Tom Stephenson (guitar), Ali Watson (bass), Greg Irons (drums).
