Langtoun Jazz are delighted to be hosting a Jazz Picnic to benefit Kirkcaldy Foodbank at this year’s festival.
The opening one hour set will be from Let the Bird Out duo
a vocals and electric guitar duo working in the jazz idiom, but also covering swing, blues, folk, pop, Latin, rock, and contemporary styles. The duo are Bev Wright (vocals) and Brian McGrail (guitar). They are based in Edinburgh, Scotland, and have vast experience of live performance at various kinds of events, including birthday and retirement parties, weddings, celebration and annual dinners, art exhibition viewings / corporate events, charity fundraisers, as well as playing in numerous music venues.
The Andy Lawrenson Trio will then present an hour set from their Golden Age of the Silver Screen programme.
The Golden Age of the Silver Screen” is an eclectic mix of popular sound tracks arranged and adapted from the Great Hollywood Musicals
Songs and music from the Classic Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers Musical, through to later themes that have anchored themselves in our collective imagination, and have become some of the most mythical and iconic pieces of film music from the 20th century
Andy Lawrenson, Simon O’Byrne and Paul Grainger have taken a selection of these inspirational pieces of music, and arranged them here for Violin, Flamenco Guitar, Double Bass and Vocals.
