Tonight we welcome an old favourite, Stephen Duffy, back to Whighams. He’s continues to sing wonderfully with that innate sense of great timing and exceptional vocal control which makes him a ‘stand out’ as one of the great Scottish male jazz vocalists (and a fine pianist as well).
For his appearance this week, Stephen brings together a fabulous quintet, special guest Ewan Mains (trumpet/flugel) with Campbell Normand (piano), Ed Kelly (d.bass) and Max Popp (drums) to perform two sets – the first of which will focus on the ‘world of Count Basie and Ella Fitzgerald and the second set given over to the great canon of work performed by Nat King Cole.
Then there’s the jam session to follow. Sounds like a great evening..oh and one more thing…. just come along and join this great band and be royally entertained.
