We’re looking for an administrator to join the Jazz From Scotland team as we expand and deliver a record number of projects in 2018.

Location: Work from home with occasional meetings in Edinburgh or Glasgow
Hours: 12 hours per week (1.5 days) – some flexibility required
Contract Type: Freelance
Length of contract: 3 month trial period with a view to extend to 12 month total
Salary: £15 per hour
Jazz From Scotland is an organisation dedicated to supporting the vibrant jazz scene in Scotland through CPD and education programmes, international showcasing, advocacy and resource-sharing. We are looking for an administrator to join our team. Our ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. They will be able to work to deadlines, work without supervision and will be adaptable to respond to changing organisational priorities.
Duties will include –
-Arrange board meetings by scheduling appropriate times and locations
-Manage correspondence by answering emails and contacting appropriate board members when necessary
-Manage invoicing and communicate with treasurer regarding payments
-Look after website and social media profiles – post regular content and liaise with web developer regarding any technical issues
-Produce monthly newsletter
-Keep track of project evaluation and reporting by project leaders and board members
-Attend meetings and events when requested
-Assist board members and project leaders in organising and running events
Essential Skills –
-Communication skills, written and verbal
-Record keeping and task management
-Proficiency with Microsoft Office programmes (or equivalent) and Google Drive.
-Ability to work unsupervised
-Experience managing social media profiles and website content
-A desire to work in the arts and support jazz scene in Scotland
-Trustworthy and able to work with confidential information
-Able to maintain a positive and welcoming image by acting as first line of contact for the organisation.
Preferred Skills –
-Prior administrative experience
-Copy writing/ creating content
-Knowledge of Scottish jazz scene
-Experience in working in the arts and/or arts-funded projects and organisations
